Short Bio

Dr. Estee Estrella is the head of the Microsurgery Unit of the Department of  Orthopaedics of the UP-PGH, The Hand Section of The Medical City and  St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, and a member of the Microsurgical  Team of The Medical City Center for Liver Disease Management and  Transplantation (CLDMT). He is a Research Associate Professor and  Assistant Director of the Institute of Clinical Epidemiology of the National  Institutes of Health of the University of the Philippines - Manila. 


He finished his orthopedic training at the University of the Philippines – Philippine General  Hospital. He had training in Hand Surgery & Wrist Arthroscopy at the Chinese University  of Hong Kong Prince of Wales Hospital under Prof. LK Hung & Dr. PC Ho. He also trained  in Microsurgery and Brachial Plexus Surgery at the Ogori Daiichi General Hospital in Japan  under Dr. Kazuteru Doi & Dr. Yasunori Hattori.


He obtained his Masters in Science (Clinical Epidemiology) at University of the PhilippinesCollege of Medicine Department of Clinical Epidemiology. He is very active in research  work, having published over 40 scientific papers in both local and international peerreviewed journals. He sits in the editorial board of the Journal of Hand Surgery Asia Pacific  Edition and is a reviewer for several prestigious international journals.
